BBC Radio Awards Manchester 2024
The 2024 BBC Radio Manchester Make a Difference Award winner for the Volunteer category was Luanne Rimmer. Luanne originally from Liverpool, but has resided in Manchester for the last 12 years, She has dedicated years to supporting families who have experienced baby loss. The BBC's Make a Difference Awards recognize individuals who make a significant difference to their community through volunteering. The awards are given across each local BBC radio station, and winners are selected by a panel of judges.
2023 Luanne was nominated and awarded The Kings Coronation Community Champion Award 2023 for her volunteer work, and dedication in supporting families who have endured the loss of a baby or child. 'From Cradle to Grave' From November 2023 to April 2024 Luanne was asked by RVS (Royal Volunteer Service) to share why volunteering has changed her life and the benefits of being a volunteer. From schools to community events Luanne shared with over 500 people. A project that was sponsored by the National Lottery Community Fund.
