15th October - Act of Kindness packs Destinations

For 8 years we have been distributing Act of Kindness packs with our beautiful handmade with love baby loss awareness ribbons, special cards with our precious little ones names that have gone on before us, and a candle to join the global 'Wave of Light' event at 7pm, on the 15th October.. We started in our local community, and then progressed to delivering to parents, organisations, and NHS hospitals over the years to help create awareness, educate, and honour the 15th October as a National Day of Remembrance for Pregnancy & Infant Loss within the UK. Which, is what we are still campaigning for today, this month we have so many Baby Loss parents and families, organisations, health professionals, Greater Manchester Police, and Royal Mail Posties, as well as local schools involved delivering these. They will be distributing our special packs to destinations listed below around the world, and will encourage people to light a candle in memory of the baby on the card. This will help to create a wave of light, and will be captured through a satellite to make the world come together and shine bright.

Each Act of Kindness packs contains:

  1. A special handmade with love ribbon by our volunteers.

  2. A candle to light on the 15th October 2023, at 7pom to join the global wave of light. Please ensure this is placed in the front window of your home for 1 hour. This will allow the satellite to capture the magical beam created.

  3. A special card that will have a baby, or child remembered on the 15th October 2023.

The aim is to say educate our communities, families and friends on pregnancy, baby, infant and child loss awareness, and also to gain signatures for our littles ones to have a special day. But, most importantly to say their names, and acknowledge what has been a taboo for many years - losing a baby or child needs to be spoken about. For far too long in the UK we have not acknowledged the little babies under 24 weeks. This year we saw an Independent Pregnancy & Infant Loss Review delivered to the government to acknowledge the support needed for families who endure baby loss. Which has resulted in Certificates of Life being made available to those who did not receive a death certificate for their precious babies under 24 weeks. For more information you can visit @SayingGoodbye on social media platforms for further updates.

If you find one of our Act of Kindness packs please UPLOAD to one of our social media platforms which, can be found on the special card. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Website, or email us a photograph to support@handmadewithlove.net and one of our Admin will team will happily upload for you.

Petition Link: UK Residents Only, please sign and share the 15th October petition which we will submit to the Government to ask for a National Day of Remembrance for Pregnancy & Infant Loss in the United Kingdom.
