Christmas Graphics from the heart

We have been completing graphics for baby and child loss parents for 10 years now. We actually started our community page with the 15th October Campaign graphic on 28th December, 2014. We still cannot believe it has been 10 years since we opened our doors, shared our journeys, started campaigning for 15th October to be recognised as a 'National Day of Remembrance for Pregnancy & Infant Loss,' which we are still campaigning for today.

When I look back at the graphics we were all new and had no idea on font sizing, backgrounds, etc, so we did a poll to see what our parents wanted. Did parents want to share their precious little ones, how would society deal with this? The first graphic done for me was by my dear friend, Paul which had all of my children's names listed on. I sobbed for hours looking at it. It was the first time ever they had all been listed together. I knew personally how much it meant to me. The next day I went to Max Spielman and got it printed. placed into a frame and today it stands with pride in their cabinet.

When our new Admin join the team this is the area they go into assisted by our Graphic Designer Admin, Charley who has been with us for nearly 6 years now. The feeling on completing you have designed and sent to a parent is beyond words. Because you know how much it means to them, as you too have been there as a baby or child loss parent. There is nothing like a thank you from a parent. Because when we design graphics we do this in memory of our children too. So, it is an honour to design a little one's graphic and see this shared. At one stage we became so overwhelmed with requests we have had to shout out to other groups to assist us. Which has been a amazing, and how friendships have formed within the baby loss community.

We have never charged and never will for our graphics, I don't even like to see links on graphics. People ask me WHY, well considering 10 years ago we started them on social media for free when no one else was, it is an honour for our team to complete them, and secondly it is a way of healing for us, and has always been for every Admin who has joined us. As baby and child loss parents we escape as we design, right now it is 4.25am and I have woken which means I will be awake, and I sat with a brew and thinking of my children. So, while it is peaceful I like to escape from the world and it is a way of us connecting with my little ones too!

Often when I design graphics with Charley we focus on theme's, angelversarys, and special dates. When our parents struggle we try to make a quote that can help when shared. It is often this time of year that parents may feel that their little one is not remembered by those close to them. In fact, Christmas is one of the hardest events parents face and we see double the support needed, and help signposting. What they would not give to have their little one remembered when Christmas cards are written and sent. Or a little gift that could be kept in their special memory boxes, or sponsoring a bear from the amazing Aching Arms, or a box with Handmade with Love & Making Memories.

We will have all individual graphics completed for Christmas Eve. Our video goes out on Christmas Eve so families can share Christmas Day. As a team we love getting messages, replies back from our families thanking us for hugging their hearts. Truth is seeing their names all together, hearing their names being spoken LIVE, and their special Christmas Graphic's reminding Santa to stop by heaven and share the love in our hearts to each and everyone of them. The truth is that this helps us heal together and make magical memories even through grief. Because we all know 'Grief' is 'Love'......
