"Smile" - Katy would want you to!

PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

Handmade with Love & Making Memories CIC Appoints Tracy Bulpitt as Fundraising & Operations Director, Scotland

“Smile” — Katy would want you to.

Handmade with Love & Making Memories CIC is proud to announce the appointment of Tracy Bulpitt as the organisation’s new Fundraising & Operations Director for Scotland.

Based in Cumbernauld, Tracy has been a valued and influential member of our community for many years. Her dedication, lived experience, and unwavering commitment to supporting bereaved families across the UK have made her a trusted and respected figure within the charity.

Tracy’s journey with Angel Parents UK & Worldwide began long before this appointment. She immersed herself in bereavement‑support training, undertook counselling courses, and worked tirelessly to understand the wider landscape of signposting organisations. Her motivation has always been rooted in empathy, authenticity, and a deep desire to guide families through the most difficult moments of their lives.

Her personal story — and the cherished memories she has shared of her daughter, Katy Elouise Bulpitt — has touched every member of our team. Tracy’s openness brought renewed purpose and connection, reminding us all of the power of community in the face of profound loss. Starting the first all-bereavement drop-in coffee and chat, "Gone but not Forgotten", she began connecting with her local community and chatting with those struggling with grief. Huge thank you to Tesco for allowing us to use their community room monthly. Further details available, email support@handmadewithlove.net and one of the team will get back to you.

Tracy began to work across Angel Parents UK and Handmade with Love & Making Memories CIC. She has played a pivotal role in delivering community projects, including the much‑loved Bereaved Families’ Christmas Decoration Workshop and Santa Visit. Her ability to organise complex events with warmth, structure, and creativity has created lasting memories for families navigating grief during the festive season.

In 2026, Tracy and her daughters — Maycee (11) and Charlotte (10) — completed the Glasgow Kiltwalk, raising an incredible £1,000 for community projects supporting bereaved families. Their strength, unity, and dedication embody the heart of our organisation.

A Journey Rooted in Love, Loss, and Advocacy

Tracy’s advocacy began in 2021, following the tragic death of her daughter Katy, aged 12, after a sudden and severe asthma attack. Katy had lived with asthma for most of her life, and despite the family’s knowledge of the signs, the attack progressed too quickly. From that moment, Tracy committed herself to raising awareness, improving understanding, and ensuring that asthma is recognised for the serious condition it is.

One of her earliest initiatives involved working with her children’s school to honour Katy’s life while raising awareness. During a special assembly attended by head teachers from neighbouring schools, Tracy’s children presented asthma‑awareness posters — created using information from Asthma + Lung UK — for display in schools across the area.

From there, Tracy’s fundraising journey continued to grow. A local B&Q tombola and raffle raised over £1,000, followed by multiple Kiltwalks and community events supporting both Asthma + Lung UK and Handmade with Love & Making Memories CIC.

In 2024, Tracy was invited to speak about asthma on BBC Radio, STV News, and BBC News following the release of a national report on its impact. This provided a powerful platform for sharing Katy’s story and raising awareness of the dangers of the condition.

Her relationship with Asthma + Lung UK has continued to grow. In 2025, she was asked to share Katy’s story as part of their summer awareness campaign — an honour she accepted with pride and purpose.

Recognition and Royal Invitation - CONGRATULATIONS, Tracy

Thanks to her advocacy and community work, Tracy has been invited to attend the King’s Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the end of June 2026. This prestigious invitation recognises her dedication to raising awareness of asthma, as well as her ongoing work supporting families affected by baby and child loss.

Tracy shared that the honour came as a complete surprise — but one she embraces with gratitude, excitement, and a determination to continue raising awareness in Katy’s memory. Attendees may even spot a few baby‑loss ribbons among the guests.

The girl is going to the ball, and the invitation has arrived. Have fun and take plenty of pictures, Tracy, you so deserve this!

Looking Ahead

In her new role, Tracy will continue her work within her local community while leading the development of new national initiatives. Throughout the month, she will share updates on upcoming projects to expand support for bereaved families across Scotland and the wider UK.

Handmade with Love & Making Memories CIC is honoured to welcome Tracy into this leadership position. Her vision, dedication, and heart will continue to shape the future of our organisation and the families we serve.
