Each year we ask our parents for nominations of who has supported them on their journey and through the month of Baby & Infant Loss awareness. We are proud to share one of our winner's Lucy Lawton, from the Bereavement Team at Nottinghamshire NHS Hospital and her nomination from Baby Loss Mum Christina Keal which was so heartfelt by the whole team.

I am so very grateful to have had such amazing support from Lucy. messaging frequently to check on me and my two other children. It was such a thoughtful, kind, caring and considerate thing to do for us as a family. I really appreciate everything she has done for me and my children, so this is to show my love and appreciation for all the support she’s given us at the hardest time of our lives. Words cannot express enough how much I feel, and we will forever be grateful. She has been more support than my own family, it means a lot!
On the 22nd of September 2023 my daughter sadly passed away unexpectedly, just one day before turning four months old. Addison was aged 17 weeks and 3 days old. It is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through, and has been a tough time for all my family. I am so blessed I got to spend time with her and watch her grow even in such a short space of time, 4 months. Somehow, it all does not seem real, like a nightmare I am living everyday. As any parent who has experienced the loss of a child will understand. When she grew her wings, it really shattered my heart, and I don’t think I would not have got through these weeks without Lucy’s support and going to visit my baby girl. my beautiful baby girl Addison. Addison was fit and well. it was so unexpected, and I miss her so much. She was my light on my darkest days and helped me through the hardest time of my life. I prayed n longed for her, but sadly we only got to spend one day off 4 months together when it should have been a lifetime. Addison loved music, and music was special to us as I always sang to her. The love and bond we shared was immense and I will love and miss her so much for the rest of my life.
So, I am honoured to nominate such a wonderful healthcare professional who literally went above and beyond to provide me and my children the support we so needed, thank you Lucy for everything you have done for us. You so deserve this nomination.

Congratulations to Lucy, such a well deserved winner. And sending hugs and floaty kisses to Christina and Addison. Xxx
