🌟 Agenda for 15th October 2026
National Day of Remembrance for Pregnancy & Infant Loss
💚 A green heart to represent mental health and wellbeing

We start the morning with a social media #saytheirname special graphic that is now available to request below. All graphics will be uploaded by 6am on the 15th October so they can be shared across your social media platforms, and profile pictures in memory of who you will be honouring on Friday, 15th October - National Day of Remembrance for Pregnancy & Infant Loss. Contrary to belief this day is not in the UK, but Angel Parents UK & Worldwide are currently campaigning for this day. Further details on their link on the homepage.
We will join millions of families around the world for the annual Wave of Light — a global remembrance where candles are lit for one hour at 7pm (UK time) to honour every baby and child loved and missed, with a one minute silence. A massive thank you to the amazing people, organisations, and charities who put together events across the world, and in the UK we have the Baby Loss Alliance, Tommys, Sands, and all the members who give their time to ensure these events are done with so much care, respect, and thought. We know 2026 will bring awareness for more families, honouring more little ones who have gone on before us. It does not matter if your loss was yesterday, or fifty plus years ago, we honour each baby and child the same. There is only one day we come together, unite, and if we choose sit peacfefully as we hear and see their precious names.
This year, we begin our LIVE Wave of Light across Facebook Platform on Angel Parents UK & Worldwide starting at 7pm with Tracy. our Fundraising & Operations Director. We will hold a one‑minute silence together, followed by the reading and sharing of your precious little ones’ names. As candles flicker across the world, the Wave of Light becomes a powerful reminder that love continues, and none of us walk this path alone.
Some of our team will be attending local services, and we will share photos and reflections afterwards. These moments can be deeply moving — and for some, overwhelming. Please follow your heart, not social media. Your wellbeing comes first. Luanne and Harry are attending a service in Manchester, candles in their Baby Garden will be lit from 3pm. They will be holding a special nightime candle lighting in the garden - details will be shared this coming Sunday.
💚 Gentle Guidance for Parents
Grief is personal, and this month can feel heavy. If you need to step back, please do.
You can take a social media break for a few days or weeks.
If you want to keep the Wave of Light on your Facebook but prefer privacy, an Admin can guide you through how to hide posts.
You are welcome to temporarily unfollow any of our platforms — your wellbeing matters more than engagement.
Throughout October, and especially during Baby Loss Awareness Week next week, many organisations will be sharing helpful tips, coping strategies, and gentle reminders of hope. Take in only what feels right for you.
🕊️ Private Support Space
We are preparing a closed, private space on our webpage for bereaved parents who want a quieter, safer environment. Tracy will share more details this weekend once everything is confirmed with the team.
This space is designed for connection, comfort, and community — a place where you can speak freely or simply sit quietly among others who understand.
💛 You Are Not Alone
It can feel isolating, especially on days of remembrance. Many of us on the team are bereaved parents ourselves. We walk this path with you — not as Health Care professionals, but as humans who have felt the ache of silence, the weight of being unheard, and the fear of speaking our truth.
Some volunteers had never shared their stories before joining us. With training, peer support, and compassion, they now offer their time to help others feel less alone. If you ever feel overwhelmed or unsafe, please reach out to someone you trust. You deserve support, care, and connection.
📩 How to Reach Us
If you would like someone to check in with you, or if you need gentle guidance, please send us a message or email. A simple hello, your name, and your baby or child’s name is enough. Your journey matters, and we will sit with you, walk beside you — one step at a time.
Together, we honour, remember, and heal on a path none of us chose, but one we navigate with courage and love.
