Baby Loss Awareness Month

🌸 Baby Loss Awareness Month 2026 — What’s Happening This October
October is a month of remembrance, connection, and collective healing within the Baby & Child Loss Community. Across the UK, USA, Europe, and beyond, families, charities, and volunteers come together to honour our precious babies and children who are forever loved and never forgotten.
This year, Angel Parents UK & Worldwide and Making Memories Handmade are proud to share a month filled with meaningful projects, community events, and gentle opportunities for reflection. Every part of our October programme has been created with love, dignity, and the hope of supporting families wherever they are in their journey.
🕊️ Our #DressedWithDignity Campaign
Throughout October, our #dressedwithdignity campaign continues to grow — a heartfelt initiative dedicated to ensuring every baby is honoured with dignity, softness, and love.
This includes:
Handmade-with-love cribs
Tiny clothing and wraps crafted by bereaved parents and grandparents
Baby Loss Awareness ribbons
Making Memory Boxes and Burial Boxes
Each item is created with care, compassion, and respect. They are gifted to hospitals, hospices, funeral homes, and families who need them most. This October, over 2,500 Baby Loss Awareness Ribbons are being distributed across the UK, USA, and Europe, helping families feel seen, supported, and remembered.
🌅 31‑Day Well‑Being Programme — Day 1 & 2: Sunrise or Sunset?
Our 31‑Day Well‑Being Programme is now live — completely free of charge and hosted away from social media in our private support group.
Each day offers a gentle prompt, reflection, or activity designed to help families:
Pause
Breathe
Honour their emotions
Connect with others who understand
Day 1 & 2 begin with a simple but meaningful question:Are you a sunrise person or a sunset person?
Sunrise represents new beginnings, hope, and gentle light.Sunset represents peace, reflection, and the closing of a chapter.
There is no right answer — only what feels true to your heart today.
💗 Community Events Across the UK
This October, our volunteers and partner organisations are hosting awareness events in:
Manchester
Cumbernauld
Glasgow
Northern Ireland
And many local communities across the UK
These gatherings include ribbon distributions, remembrance displays, support stands, and opportunities for families to meet others walking a similar path. Every event is run by volunteers — bereaved parents, grandparents, and supporters who give their time and hearts to help others feel less alone.
🕯️ 15th October — National Day of Remembrance
On 15th October, we join families worldwide in honouring the National Day of Remembrance for Pregnancy & Infant Loss.
At 7pm, we will:
Light our candles for one hour
Take part in a LIVE one‑minute silence (UK time)
Say their names
Share poems, music, and personal journeys
This day reminds us that our babies matter. Their stories matter. And we matter.
🌟 Together, We Can ALL Make A Difference
Every ribbon, every handmade crib, every shared story, and every candle lit helps raise awareness and support families who may feel isolated in their grief.
This October, we invite you to:
Get involved
Share our campaign
Join our events
Take part in the well‑being programme
Help us raise awareness across the UK and beyond
Together, we can create magical moments of remembrance, build stronger communities, and help heal one another — step by step.
You are not alone.
