🌈 Flag of Hope — Day of Hope

Each year, on 19th August, families across the world come together for the Day of Hope — a day of remembrance, unity, and gentle light for all babies and children gone too soon. It is a day when grief transforms into love, and love becomes visible in colour, fabric, and prayer.

At Angel Parents UK & Worldwide, we honour this day through our Flag of Hope project — a collective act of remembrance that invites families to create their own Prayer Flags in memory of their little ones. Each flag carries a name, a symbol, or a message of love, fluttering together in a shared sky of hope.

🕊️ The Meaning Behind the Flag

The Flag of Hope is more than fabric and thread — it is a living symbol of connection.Every flag tells a story: of a baby remembered, a family healing, and a community standing together.Some flags are painted in soft watercolour hues, others adorned with butterflies, feathers, halos, or snowdrops — each one unique, each one sacred.

Families write names, poems, or blessings upon their flags.They hang them in gardens, windows, or memorial spaces, allowing the wind to carry their love into the world.Together, these flags form a tapestry of remembrance — a rainbow of souls united in peace.

💗 How We Support the Day of Hope

At Handmade with Love & Making Memories CIC, we dedicate our time and hearts to helping families prepare for this special day.Our volunteers craft remembrance boxes, design printable flag templates, and offer gentle guidance online throughout the 18th and 19th of August.We share stories, poems, and creative ideas — ensuring that no parent feels alone in their remembrance.

We also host virtual gatherings, where families can post photos of their flags, candles, or gardens.Each image becomes part of a collective memorial thread — a digital garden of hope and love.
