Healing Hearts: Self-Care Sunday Strategies for Navigating Grief After the Loss of a pregnancy, baby, or child.

Losing a baby or child during or after pregnancy is one of the most profound and painful experiences a person can face. The grief that follows can feel overwhelming and isolating. Taking time for yourself through intentional self-care can provide moments of relief and healing. Self-Care Sunday offers a dedicated space to focus on your mental health and emotional well-being during this difficult journey.

Each week, we will focus on a topic and theme, and we are open to you letting us know what you would like to take part in during the on-the-spot chats and discussions, as well as to share and receive support and advice. Literally, we are open to healing, and we recognise we are different.


Understanding Grief After Loss


Grief after losing a child is complex and deeply personal. It often includes a mix of sadness, anger, guilt, and confusion. These feelings can come in waves and may last for months or years. Recognising that grief is not linear helps set realistic expectations for healing. Some days will feel better than others, and that is okay.


It’s important to acknowledge your emotions without judgment. Suppressing feelings can delay healing and increase stress. Instead, allow yourself to feel whatever arises, knowing that grief is a natural response to loss.
