Happy International Nurses Day to the amazing human beings we are privileged to work alongside within the NHS and care facilities across the UK.
Over the last twelve years, through Angel Parents UK and Handmade with Love & Making Memories, we have worked with some truly outstanding nurses who share our vision of supporting newborn babies, premature babies, and babies born sleeping. From tiny hats to complete burial boxes, we have had the honour of introducing our work to NHS hospitals and places of worship across the country.
A special thank you goes to Laura, Sharon, and Leanne at the Royal Oldham Hospital, EPAU Unit, who supported us later in our journey after losing several babies. Their compassion helped us rebuild trust in those caring for our little ones, and their belief in “Dressed with Dignity” ensured families received the respect and care they deserved.
Words will never fully capture the understanding, compassion, love, and dedication it takes to support families who have endured the loss of a tiny baby. The emotional impact of this work is immense, yet these nurses continue to walk alongside families every day, ensuring their wishes are honoured and their babies’ final goodbyes are handled with the utmost respect.
As a bereaved mum of multiple babies lost under 24 weeks, the care and dignity shown by these nurses not only restored our faith but also encouraged us to prioritise self‑care for myself, for Harry, and for our team of volunteers.
On behalf of the thousands of women, men, and children you have supported: Thank you for your service, your compassion, and your unwavering dedication to ensuring that our babies mattered. Your impact is immeasurable, and your kindness will never be forgotten.
