Good morning, LONG POST 💚🙏💚
Today marks the beginning of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek in the UK. Each year, a theme is chosen to highlight key areas of support, encouraging people to seek help, share their experiences, and share the mazing services that have supported you locally and nationally on your journey.. Slowly, the silence surrounding mental health in society is being broken and long may it continue.
In the UK alone, statistics suggest:
- 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health condition.
- 1 in 4 healthcare professionals will face mental health challenges.
- The highest rate of suicide is among men.
It’s incredibly heartening to see Baby & Child Loss Dads receiving support and working alongside charities like Daddys with Angels (DWA), Aching Arms UK (#AchingArms), Andys Man Club, and many more support groups and charities emerging across the UK.
For many men, grief is perceived as a weakness, affecting their mental health in profound ways. Feeling isolated and left out can be utterly soul-destroying. I know firsthand, as my husband experienced it.
This is a call to all dads: share your journey, offer advice, and provide support to other bereaved fathers struggling with their mental health. Together, we can break the silence and ensure no dad faces this alone.
#breakingthestigma while ensuring we maintain our own mental health balance within our private workshops, and support groups.
This commitment is something we are proud of as volunteers. However, even we sometimes forget to STOP and take our 15 minute self-care break. This year, we’ve been more intentional about personal time, allowing us to plan ahead more effectively, maximize our impact, and launch incredible projects with our sister organization, Angel Parents UK & Worldwide for updates and the campaign, please sign up as a member on our webpage free.
Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual campaign coordinated by the Mental Health Foundation, taking place 12th–18th May 2025. Its goal is to raise awareness of mental health, with a different theme each year. The theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 is ‘Community’, celebrating the power and importance of human connection. A safe, supportive community is essential for well-being, offering a sense of belonging, security, and encouragement during difficult times. Strong social connections help us thrive, reminding us that we never walk alone. #YNWA
Communities give us purpose, uplift us, and reinforce the truth that together, we are stronger 💚 without mine I would not be were I am today! We have some ideas on sharing this week, and WE NEED YOUR HELP and INPUT, please watch the video and COMMENT below if you would like to take part. We can all do our part to break the silence, and share the amazing work in our communities to support and help create awareness for Mental Health and those who struggle.
From all the team please be kind to yourselves this week. Remember there is no right or wrong way, we all have experienced or have some form of mental health. #yougothisandwegotyou 💚
