Our Unsung Hero's - Volunteer Gemma Whittaker

It is with great pleasure that we can now announce our amazing volunteer Gemma Whittaker who was nominated and chosen for one of our unsung hero's with Room to Reward 2024. We would like to say a huge thank you to Gemma for everything she does in supporting bereaved families, raising funds, breaking the silence around 'Baby Loss' and for being the person she is. Gemma has been keen to work upon her own well being nd self care while providing care and support for family members. Dedicated in her work and help in creating awareness, Gemma and her two daughter's love crafting. It gives them time as a family to use crafting as a way of expressing grief and emotions. It has allowed the family to play a huge part in our siblings and 'Act of Kindness' projects.

Gemma has been with us behind the scenes for many years, and goes above beyond in all that she does to support others. This year she has faced triggers, and removed barriers by working through them, instead of around them, and she would be the first to be honest about her journey, the one there is no guidance for "Sating goodbye, before hello'. 'A huge thank you to #Room to Reward for this amazing opportunity, which is a mini break for Gemma and her family. It goes without saying your are gifting so much care and love for people who often go unnoticed in the work place, and have chosen to work through sometimes love and pain. We hope you have a wonderful time Gemma, and cannot wait to see were you have chosen to go as a family, you so deserve this and much more. As an organisation, for parents by parents, we would like to cover the cost of return travel to your chosen destination, as well as a £100 gift voucher to spend as you choose.
