Preparing for the unknown.
🌿 As Baby Loss Awareness Week Approaches
As Baby Loss Awareness Week approaches each year, I am reminded of just how many newly bereaved parents may be stepping into October for the very first time — overwhelmed, frightened, and unsure of what this week will bring. For many, the sudden increase in posts, campaigns, and advertisements across social media can feel like a tidal wave. It can trigger memories, emotions, and pain that sit just beneath the surface, waiting for the smallest nudge to rise.
Even though this week is so needed — a week of awareness, remembrance, connection, and visibility — it can also feel never‑ending when your heart is already heavy. The constant reminders of loss, the stories shared, the candles lit, the names spoken… they can bring comfort, but they can also bring exhaustion.
You are not alone in feeling this way.
💛 Over the Next Two Weeks:
Gentle Guidance & Support
Over the next two weeks, we will be sharing tips, guidance, and gentle reminders to help you keep yourself a priority as October approaches. Whether you are newly bereaved or many years into your grief, preparation can make a meaningful difference.
We will explore:
How to protect your emotional space
How to unfollow or mute triggering pages
How to take a break from social media
How to connect safely within the baby loss community
How to join the 31‑Day Healing & Wellbeing Challenge
How to put yourself first for at least 30 minutes a day
These small acts of preparation can help soften the edges of a difficult week.
🌼 The First Thing to Remember
The very first thing — the most important thing — is this:
You are not alone.
Not in your grief.
Not in your triggers.
Not in your exhaustion.
Not in your fear of facing October.
There is a whole community walking beside you. Parents who understand. Parents who have felt the same overwhelm. Parents who will hold space for you, whether you choose to participate fully, quietly, or not at all.
🕊️ If You Need a Starting Point
Here are gentle places to begin:
Review your social media space
Choose one wellbeing activity
Connect with one safe person
Explore the 31‑Day Challenge
Even one small step like sharing could help you feel more grounded as the week approaches.
Together we can all make a difference within our communities.
Take care and remember to reach out to one of the team if tou are stuggling at anytime. Wishing you all a peaceful weekend, making precious memories.
