Friendship, Loss, and Legacy
Friendship inside a community like ours is never accidental. It’s built in the quiet moments — the shared purpose, the cups of tea after long days, the laughter that lifts us, and the compassion that carries us through the hardest nights. Some people arrive in our lives as volunteers, but they stay as family. Paul and Annie were exactly that.
Seven years ago, we lost our Paul Scully‑Sloan — a man whose kindness ran deep, whose humour softened the heaviest days, and whose loyalty to our families never wavered. Then, six years later to the very day, we said goodbye to our beautiful Annie Parĥĥíker, whose gentle strength and fierce love shaped so much of what our community has become.
Both gave their time, their hearts, and their hands to the baby loss community, not because they had to, but because they believed every family deserved to be held with dignity and tenderness. Their friendship wasn’t loud; it was steady. It was the kind that stays with you long after someone is gone.
Today, as we share this poem, we honour them not only for what they did, but for who they were - the kind of friends who become part of your story forever. Their legacy lives in every act of kindness, every family supported, every moment of compassion that continues in their name.
Paul and Annie, you are missed beyond words and remembered with love that never fades.
