🌼 Honouring Nine Years of Love, Loss, and Legacy

Nine years have passed since our dear friend Sam left this world to be with her beautiful daughter, Willow. Though time has moved forward, the love she carried, the awareness she raised, and the legacy she left behind continue to ripple through our community in ways that cannot be measured.

Sam dedicated herself to raising awareness about the hidden pain of baby loss — a pain so many carry silently. Like many bereaved parents who volunteer, she poured her heart into this work because, for a short while, it helped fill the void. Speaking her child’s name, sharing her story, and reaching out to another grieving parent gave her a sense of purpose and pride that only those who walk this path truly understand.

It was never about recognition. It was always about one parent at a time.

🤝 The Quiet Moments That Bind Us

Some of the most powerful moments in this community are the ones where no words are needed. A parent shares their journey, their heartbreak, their truth — and you simply hold their hand through it. Those are the moments I like to believe our children bring us together, stitching our lives into one another’s in ways only grief can.

We understand the real meaning of the phrase: “You cannot have love without pain.”

I like to think of Sam as being out of pain now. Free from the heaviness she carried. Watching over us, watching over every new parent who reads her journey today and feels understood.

Because the truth is, you can’t fully describe what this life feels like. It’s as though we live in two worlds at once — the world everyone expects us to function in, and the world where our community keeps our hearts beating.

💛 A Family Who Carry Her Light Forward

Sam’s family have continued her work with such strength and grace. They have raised awareness, shared their story, and supported services that offer comfort and dignity to families walking the hardest path. Their openness has helped countless parents feel less alone. Their dedication has ensured that both Sam and Willow’s names continue to shine.

Today, I will light my candle and raise a brew in memory of Sam and Willow.And I’m sending floaty hugs and kisses to Jayne and her family, who have carried Sam’s legacy with such courage, honesty, and love.
