🌈 Meet the Team – Rainbow Star Volunteer: Angela Sellers, Rainbow Star "Crafter of the Year 2026"

It gives us great pleasure to introduce our volunteer, Angela Sellers, who is one of our most dedicated and cherished volunteers at Handmade with Love & Making Memories CIC. Joining us in 2019, Angela has spent over seven years giving her time, talent, and heart to families across the UK. Her commitment, motivation, and kindness make her not only an exceptional volunteer but a treasured friend to our entire team.

Angela is a proud grandmother, and in 2021 her family welcomed a precious Rainbow Baby — a moment filled with hope, healing, and love. Our Rainbow Project for babies born after loss is one that through her dedication and kindness, has allowed us to support so many since 2021.

With decades of knitting experience, Angela brings both skill and soul to every piece she creates. Her passion is deeply rooted in her journey as an Angel Mummy, lovingly supported by her husband. Each tiny crib she knits becomes a safe, dignified resting place for a baby lost too soon. These cribs are sent directly to parents experiencing miscarriage at home, as well as to Early Pregnancy Units across the UK that we support.

When I asked Angela why she continues to do this work, tears filled her eyes as she spoke about her son, Christopher, who would have been 35 years old this year. She shared how vital it is for parents to have choice, dignity, and compassion during the most heartbreaking moments of their lives. Many years ago, this was not the experience for bereaved parents — something Angela knows all too well. Her work ensures that no parent today is left without comfort, care, or the chance to say goodbye with dignity and choice.#dressedwithdignity

We invited Angela to reflect on some of her favourite creations and the projects she has supported over the years — from baby loss support to knitting for teenagers with cancer, to helping her local lifeboat community. Her generosity reaches far beyond our organisation; she is truly one of our unsung heroes.

Angela, thank you for everything you do for bereaved parents, for your local community, and for our team. Your strength, love, and passion inspire us every day. You never slow down, and your light makes us all smile. You are an irreplaceable part of Handmade with Love & Making Memories, and we are honoured to celebrate you as our "Crafter of the Year 2026" during Volunteer Week 2026. Angela has won a 2-night break from "Room to Reward", where she and her husband can stay at a 4- or 5-star hotel bed and breakfast as a special thank-you for all her hard work. Angela will be booking her hotel in London to stay next January 2027, combining time with family and friends.
